FASTRON Hungária has expanded its manufacturing capabilities with the installation of an Amada Ensis 3015 AJRI fiber laser cutting machine equipped with a Rotary Index tube processing unit. At the time of installation, this technology represented a unique solution in Hungary, combining flat sheet laser cutting and tube processing in a single machine.
What advantages does the new laser cutting machine bring?
For decades, FASTRON has successfully relied on Amada technologies and has maintained a strong partnership with EPL Tech Kft., the Hungarian distributor, service provider, and technical support partner. This long-standing positive experience was an important factor in our investment decision.
The Amada Ensis 3015 AJRI (3 kW) is a highly flexible manufacturing system that enables rapid changeover between flat sheet processing and the cutting of tubes and hollow sections. Its innovative Ensis laser source continuously adjusts the beam characteristics according to the material and thickness, ensuring outstanding cutting quality, high processing speeds, and energy-efficient operation.
The machine is capable of processing large-format metal sheets up to 25 mm thick, while its tube-cutting unit can handle tubes and profiles up to 6 meters in length and 220 mm in diameter.
How has the new machine changed production?
Before the installation of the Ensis system, tube and profile processing was either outsourced to subcontractors or carried out on flatbed laser machines through significantly more time-consuming operations involving custom fixtures and manual repositioning.
To the best of our knowledge, this was the first machine of its kind installed in Hungary and remains a relatively rare technology even across Western Europe. The investment has significantly increased our production capacity and flexibility. Today, our laser cutting department operates two fiber laser systems, one CO₂ laser, and five punching machines.
Our sheet metal manufacturing division serves a wide range of industry-leading customers across sectors including medical technology, security systems, industrial electronics, and consumer electronics. Many of the products we manufacture are delivered as pre-assembled or fully assembled units, providing customers with higher added value and complete manufacturing solutions.
Does the machine support automotive production as well?
The integrated tube-cutting capability allows us to process our own structural profiles and hollow sections much more efficiently than before. At the same time, we continue to have available capacity for new customer projects requiring precision tube and profile processing.
While our primary focus remains on existing customers and companies operating in the industrial electronics sector, we are also open to opportunities in the automotive industry and other demanding technical markets.
Our long-term strategy is to increase the share of high-value-added products by offering complete manufacturing solutions, from engineering support and design assistance through sheet metal processing, welding and surface finishing to final assembly.
Increased Capacity and Flexibility
By significantly reducing setup and changeover times, the new machine has improved our manufacturing flexibility and responsiveness. As a result, we can provide greater production capacity and shorter lead times for both existing and new customers.
FASTRON remains committed to continuous development and technological advancement, investing in modern manufacturing solutions that strengthen our competitiveness and support long-term customer partnerships.
